Physical changes in the body

Lochia (postpartum discharge)

 Starts as heavy bleeding and gradually decreases in volume and changes in color, ceasing within 4–6 weeks.

Requires gentle care and hygiene, whether from vaginal birth or cesarean section.

Uterine and abdominal wall recovery

The uterus gradually returns to its normal size, and abdominal swelling subsides.

The drop in estrogen and progesterone levels affects both the body and mood.
